about

This song was laying around for a while and finally found a home. It is a loose study of how violence in the news used to always happen on the other side of the sea. They may now be singing it over there about us.

The recording is somewhat chaotic, channeling a vintage REM feel with an alarmingly psychedelic instrumental break that features wind chimes and sitar.

lyrics

Time is moving slowly
Set as you want it to be
Waiting for resistance from the other side of the sea

Sad that there’s a problem
Sad that they never agree
Always it’s a problem on the other side of the sea

What if it rains on the parade?
Will the sky fall down?
And what if the pain, in aftermath, won’t subside, leaving us to drown?

What if it rains on the parade?
Will the ground fall out?
And what if the strain, the severed ties, washed away all we’re all about?

So we move in slowly
Holding so they never break free
Still the bombs are falling on the other side of the sea…
